If you cannot remember the last time you had a comprehensive eye exam, you should make an appointment to see us at Chicago Vision Club. At our vision practice you can receive a comprehensive eye exam in Lake View which will not only provide you with an up-to-date lens prescription if needed, but also make sure that your eyes are thoroughly tested for eye health problems.
It is generally recommended that adults have vision checkups annually; if you have a specific eye problem or medical disease, it may be recommended that you have complete vision checkups more frequently. During our comprehensive eye exam, your eyes will be thoroughly tested for their visual acuity as well as screened for many different eye diseases and disorders. Whether you are having a comprehensive eye exam or contact lens exam and screening, you will have a complete eye health exam and eye testing to make sure that your eyes are healthy. Among the different diseases that your eyes will be screened for during our eye testing are: glaucoma; cataracts; diabetic retinopathy; macular degeneration; retinal tears; dry eyes; and other problems of the cornea, macula, and retina. During our eye exam in Lake View, your eyes will also be screened to see if you have astigmatism, or are nearsighted or farsighted. If it is determined that you have a refractive error, our eye doctor will write a lens prescription for you, which can either be for eyeglasses or contact lenses. If you are getting contact lenses, you will need to have a comprehensive contact lens exam during which our eye doctor will also take measurements of your eyes, including the curve of your cornea and the size of your iris. Even if you have astigmatism, or dry eye, you will be happy to know that you too can have your vision safely and accurately corrected using contact lenses.
